Welcome everyone. I'm psyched to be rolling out my new blog (Joey's Hopefully Useful Little Tidbits of Enlightenment). I'll be posting images and thoughts from my day to day life as a portrait photographer.
I created my first image at the age of eight (1973) with a Kodak Instamatic of my Grandmother and a few Aunts marching in a Memorial Day parade, while sitting on my dad's shoulders. Since then, I have been fascinated by photography and the processes involved with creating images. It seems like it all started just yesterday, but I'm in my nineteenth year as a professional photographer, earning a living from the craft that continues to fascinate me. I have done A LOT in my career and there is so much more to come. I've been making images since my childhood but still invest several hours a day learning and exploring. The world of photography evolves on a daily basis. It can never 'get old', so neither will I.
